An engineer who leads engineers.

In 1986, Amos failed to get into university. Not for lack of ability — his science results were strong — but a P7 in English Language closed the door on Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ibadan. For a young man who had done everything the textbooks asked, it was a public, painful full stop.

What he did next set the pattern for everything after. Instead of negotiating with the standard, he rebuilt himself to exceed it — and made a promise that when he did get in, he would not merely pass. At the Federal University of Technology, Akure, he graduated with First Class Honours as overall best graduating student and valedictorian of 1991. The habits that carried him there — self-leadership, strategy, goal setting, planning, scheduling, execution — became the raw material of the frameworks he teaches today.

Two decades into a career spanning six years in academia and twenty-four in oil and gas, a second turning point arrived. Around 2008, by his own account, personal challenges and professional demands forced a deeper self-examination — “I simply yearned for more.” Out of that season came his personal mandate, S.O.A.R H.I.G.H.: Secure Our Asset Responsibly — Helping Individuals Gain Heights. The first half is the engineer's duty he carried as pioneer Plant Integrity Assurance Manager at Nigeria LNG. The second half is the coach's calling that now fills his evenings, his book, and this site.

That pairing is the point. Amos does not teach leadership as performance. He teaches it as integrity engineering for people: inspect honestly, find the weak signal early, intervene deliberately, and build systems that hold under pressure.
